TV Sunday Launched in New York

Established to bring the South Asian-American community closer to the American mainstream, TV Sunday has been inaugurated in New York on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by Jenifer Rajkumar, the Assemblywoman of New York District 38, who was joined by Bishnu Prasad Gautam, Nepal’s Consul General in New York. Held at Jackson Height in the presence of the community leaders, entrepreneurs, media personalities, and various honorable guests the event was magnificent. The United States is considered as one of the most diverse countries in the world and keeping this fact into consideration, TV Sunday is determined to produce programs to promote their culture and identity. “Our main goal is to encourage the minority community into mainstream social and political activities by promoting the fundamental identities of different communities,” said Kiran Marahatta, editor-in-chief, and presenter of TV Sunday. Jennifer Rajkumar, the event’s chief guest, expressed her confidence in TV Sunday being as successful as the mainstream media and promised to help as much as she could. “I believe TV Sunday will be a source of pride for all New Yorkers,” she said.
Similarly, Nepali Consul General Bishnu Prasad Gautam expressed his best wishes towards TV Sunday and hoped that it would contribute to bringing the activities of the Nepali community among the international community. “I am ready to fully support the efforts of Nepali media personnel,” he said. Based in New York’s Forest Hill Tower, TV Sunday has bureau offices in London, Doha, Melbourne, and Kathmandu. Initially, the program will be broadcasted for 2 hours daily and will be extended further. Currently, the goal is to webstream and later on via cable. .
